Summer Learning
Joyful instruction that helps students strengthen core skills while school is out.
↗Change for Haitian Youth creates safe, joyful learning experiences led by Haitian educators and powered by community.

Since 2019, CHY has returned each summer with one promise: to create opportunity alongside Haitian children, families, and educators.
Even as conditions change, our commitment does not. We listen to our local team, adjust sites and schedules when necessary, and place safety at the center of every decision. Our program is built by people who know their communities—and believe deeply in their children.
See what seven years built →“Hope is not passive.
It is something we build,
together.”
CHY is sustained by educators who problem-solve beyond limited resources, supporters who believe in long-term change, and students who return ready to learn.

↗Soccer, creative activities, and shared moments give children room to connect and simply be children.

CHY began with 50 students in Year 1. We grew with intention—75 students in Year 2, 100 in Year 3, and 150 students every year since Year 4.
Our team adapts each summer to meet students where they are—academically, emotionally, and geographically.
Lessons, friendships, soccer, and laughter make every program day a place students want to return to.
We work in close partnership with local leadership, adjust programming as conditions evolve, and never treat gathering as more important than the well-being of our students and team.

Every child belongs inside the circle of possibility.
